The rules of said arbitration shall be conducted under the Voluntary Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

The costs of the arbitration itself (inclusive of the arbitrator's fees and expenses) shall be borne equally between the parties. Each party shall be responsible for any costs attributable to its own representation.

Assault Accident Injury Leave — Employee absent due to assault, accident, or injury in course of employment resumes regular pay upon return
In the event that an employee is absent due to assault, accident, injury or illness incurred in the course of the employee's employment, said employee shall resume regular pay upon return to work.

Assignment Notice Deadline — written notice of assignment by July 15
A written notice of assignment for the ensuing school year shall be given no later than July 15. In the event changes are made in the employee's assignment after this date, the employee shall be notified promptly in writing with reasons.

The Association shall be allowed to use no more than twelve (12) days each year for Association business. The Association will make every reasonable effort to provide 48 hour written notice to the building principal.

An employee shall be allowed to use sick days to attend the funeral of individuals not in the immediate family or household, but shall not be allowed to use sick days to augment personal days.

Bus Chaperone Away Games — $35 per trip or $50 if supervising meal stop for bus chaperones
Teachers riding the bus as chaperones to away games shall be paid $35 per trip or $50 if the employee is required to supervise a meal stop.

Class Size 35 Students Section Split — If elementary P.E. class with special education students exceeds 35, class shall be divided into sections not exceeding 30
If the initial enrollment of an elementary P.E. class which includes special education students exceeds thirty (30) in number, an aide will be assigned if requested by the teacher.

Class Size Compensation Rate — 5 times hourly internal substitution rate for full-day violations
Compensation for full-day violations shall be five (5) times the hourly internal substitution rate.

The administration then has a grace period of fifteen (15) school attendance days to verify the allegation and, if true, to correct said situation without penalty.

When the enrollment of any self-contained elementary classroom or any academic secondary classroom exceeds thirty (30) students, the teacher shall notify his/her immediate supervisor in writing.

Each employee shall be reimbursed up to $250 for purchase of consumable materials related to classroom instruction, provided that requests for reimbursement are accompanied by a sales receipt.

If a coach completes the 1st game/contest up to 25% of the season, he/she will entitled to 25% of the coaching stipend. If a coach completes 26% to 50% of the season, he/she will be entitled to 50% of the coaching stipend. If a coach completes 51% to 100% of the season, he/she will be entitled to 100% of the coaching stipend.

At the elementary level, the preparation period will be no less than forty-five (45) consecutive minutes.

At the request of the building principal, teachers shall provide three (3) days of 'emergency lesson plans' to be kept on file in the office in the event that a teacher is unexpectedly absent.

The superintendent will provide the Association with thirty (30) minutes in the first scheduled in-service program for orientation of new employees regarding the contract and the Association.

Evaluation Observation Notice — principal must notify employee within fifteen work days of observation of significant deficiency
Following an observation, if the principal believes an employee has a significant deficiency, he/she shall notify the employee within fifteen (15) work days of the observation in writing in specific terms of deficits he/she observes.

Evaluation Remediation Period — employee has twenty work days to remedy deficits after written notice
The employee shall have twenty (20) work days following this written notice in which to attempt to eliminate or reverse the deficits noted in the observation.

Teachers performing such extra duty shall be paid at the rate of $35 per session.

Step One: informal resolution with immediate supervisor within 5 days. Step Two: superintendent meeting within 5 days. Step Three: binding arbitration with AAA within 25 work days.

No employee may initiate a grievance after fifteen (15) work days following the alleged violation of the Agreement.

If the cost increases by five percent (5%) or more the Board may ask to reopen negotiations concerning insurance cost and wages.

The Board agrees to pay a maximum contribution equal to the current cost of the employee-only High Deductible Plan coverage (which is $853.00 per month) toward the employee's monthly health insurance premium.

A flat fee of $150 shall be paid to bus chaperones traveling to the IHSA State Tournament series.

Internal substitution shall be voluntary. Any employee who agrees to forfeit his/her scheduled planning period shall be compensated at the rate of $20.

The Board shall provide $20,000 of term life insurance to all employees covered by this Agreement. The Board agrees to pay up to five dollars ($5.00) per month towards this premium.

No employee--except a certified nurse--shall be required to store or administer medication to students. The employer shall indemnify and save harmless from any liability any employees who administer medication in direct response to an order from supervisory personnel.
