Upon childbirth, the birthing parent will be provided with thirty (30) days of paid leave to be applied upon birth of a child and concurrently with the use of FMLA. A Non-birthing parent will be granted ten (10) days of paid leave to be used consecutively upon the birth of a child.

Contract Days Teacher — Seven and one-half consecutive hours, with exceptions for meetings, conferences, detention duty, and emergencies
The regular workday for all teachers shall be no longer than seven and one-half consecutive hours except for the following: Meetings scheduled by the Principal and/or Superintendent; Open House and/or Meet the Teacher Night; Scheduled parent/student/teacher conferences; After-School Detention Duty; Emergency situations.

Before reporting to duty, every newly appointed certificated employee shall have a physical examination. The results of which shall be recorded on a standardized form supplied by the Board of Education. This examination shall be at the expense of the employee.

Retirement Incentive Creditable Increase — Creditable earnings increased by six percent (6%) per year of eligibility
In exchange for the Teacher's binding, irrevocable resignation, the Board agrees to remove the Teacher from the salary schedule and for each year of eligibility the Teacher's creditable earnings will be increased by six percent (6%) over the Teacher's reportable creditable earnings for the prior year of employment.

The Board agrees to provide those Tier 1 teachers who are retiring with a minimum of thirty (30) years of continuous full-time teaching in the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Community Unit School District No. 5 with an early retirement incentive.

Tuition Reimbursement Master — 50% of tuition and fees up to $2,500 per fiscal year for master's degree coursework beyond master's degree or endorsement
A teacher who wishes to earn credit towards or beyond the Master's degree or endorsement in the field of teaching will upon prior approval of the Superintendent be reimbursed 50% of the tuition and fees up to $2,500 per fiscal year.
