Ba Min Salary — Life insurance minimum death benefit: $10,000
The employer shall, within a reasonable time following the adoption and ratification of this agreement, establish a Section 125 Cafeteria Plan permitting employees at least the option of deducting from gross salary any cost for group health or group term life insurance. The plan shall minimally include life insurance with a death benefit of $10,000.

Base Salary Increase Yr1 — Retirement bonus applied during last three years of service at 6% of current salary for employees with 15+ years of service
The Board shall apply during each payroll term of the last three years of service six 6% (as determined by law) to the current salary of each employee who has at least fifteen (15) years of service to KSED and is eligible for a full annuity from TRS and/or IMRF.

For the 2025-2026 year, a 4.5% salary increase for all KSED staff.

The following exceptions shall apply when authorized by the administration: maternity leave, bereavement leave, any leave covered by FMLA, any leave covered by sick bank days, and any days taken with a doctor's note provided.

Child Rearing Leave Duration — 1 year leave of absence without pay for child rearing purposes upon request and approval by Director
Male and female employees may, upon request and approval by the Director, be granted a one (1) year leave of absence without pay for child rearing purposes as a result of the birth of a child or the adoption of a child.

Conference Professional Activities — All KSED employees given opportunity to attend professional meetings in Illinois or bordering states upon Director approval and ability to locate substitute
All KSED employees will be given an opportunity to attend professional meetings in Illinois (or bordering states, to the extent permitted by applicable state or federal rule) upon the approval of the Director, and upon the District being able to locate a substitute, when applicable.

Contract Days Teacher — Work days for nine month employees increased from 183 to 180
The CBA will change to one hundred and eighty (180) work days for nine (9) month employees with no reduction in total wages or benefits beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.

Upon utilization of all accumulated sick leave, an employee may be granted, upon request, an extended leave of absence for up to a maximum of nine months without pay for personal illness.

If at any time during this contract the employee contribution exceeds $100.00 per month, the KSED Director will notify the Union President via official letter prior to June 1st of that school year.

The District will contribute on a pre-tax basis the amount of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) per month or at the federal rate in a health savings account as allowed by federal law. This deposit will be made on a monthly basis.

Instructional Minutes Day — Secretaries, maintenance engineers, and bookkeepers have 7 1/4-hour work day including two 10-minute breaks and 45-minute lunch period
The regular work day for secretaries, maintenance engineers and bookkeepers shall be seven and one-quarter (7 1/4) hours which shall include two (2) ten (10) minute breaks which shall be determined by the Administration, plus a forty-five (45) minute lunch period which is not part of the seven and one-quarter (7 1/4) hours.

Off Schedule Bonus Yr1 — Certified Teachers required to serve as substitute teacher outside regular assignment earn additional $18.00 per hour of student contact time per day
Certified Teachers who are required to serve as a substitute teacher outside of their regular assignment (e.g. Adaptive P.E. Teacher or Social Worker assigned to be a classroom teacher) shall be paid an additional amount of Eighteen and no/100 dollars ($18.00) per hour of student contact time per day.

Personal Days Annual — Certified employee supervising intern/student teacher receives one additional personal day per year
Any Certified and/or Licensed employee who supervises an intern or student teacher for more than one (1) full semester shall receive one (1) additional personal day for that year. One day (1) per employee per school year is allowed.

Plan Time — Special education teachers in Bridges or KEC programs have minimum 150 minutes per week plan time in 30-minute increments
Each special education teacher within the Bridges or KEC programs shall have a minimum of 150 minutes per week of plan time. Plan time shall be defined as time when teachers do not have the responsibility for supervising students. The Administration will be to strive to provide plan time in thirty (30) minute increments during the day.

The probationary period for non-certified employees shall be two years.

Reduction In Force Procedure — RIF governed by School Code Section 24-12 (certified) and 10-23.5 (non-certified); Sequence of Honorable Dismissal List applies
There shall be no procedure for reduction in force other than 24-12 of the School Code (certified employees) and 10-23.5 of the School Code (for non-certified employees).

Retirement Pickup Pct — Longevity bonus of $100 per year of service rendered with KSED #801
Employee shall receive $100 for each year of service rendered with KSED #801. The total benefit amount shall be calculated based on the number of complete years of service as of the retirement date.

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year and for the duration of the current agreement, the Board will pay the TRS & IMRF retirement contributions for employees at the provided state statute.

Employees hired during the term of this agreement shall have their starting salary established according to the Placement Matrices attached hereto and incorporated herein as Appendix A, and employees shall be paid during the term of this agreement according to the salary percentage agreement.

Each member of the bargaining unit who has fewer than fifteen (15) years of service in a TRS and/or IMRF qualifying position shall be granted twelve (12) sick leave days per school year for nine-month employees

Step Increase — Non-certified overtime threshold: 37.5 hours per week
Non-certified employees shall be paid time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours per week. The work week shall be the seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods commencing midnight Saturday.

Tuition Reimbursement Max — Maximum tuition reimbursement per semester per employee
Tuition shall be reimbursed at a rate, not to exceed $1200.00 per semester, per employee.

The Board shall provide a pool of Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12,000) per year to reimburse certified and non-certified employees for tuition costs associated with professional advancement or recertification.

KSED shall allow for a thirty (30) minute early release once per semester in order for employees to attend scheduled union meetings.

KSED agrees to make available a total of four (4) days each school year to the president or his/her designee of the Union for the purpose of attending Union meetings.

Voluntary Sick Leave Bank Annual Donation — Employees may voluntarily donate 1 sick day per year to a sick leave bank
Any KSED employee covered under the terms of this agreement may voluntarily elect to donate 1 (one) sick day per year to a sick leave bank.

Work From Home Itinerant Monthly — KSED School Psychologists assigned to multiple districts may work from alternate location 1 day per month for paperwork/training with 24-hour notice
KSED School Psychologists who are assigned to more than one district (itinerants) shall be able to work from an alternate location (i.e. home) one (1) day per month to complete paperwork or training.
