Arbitration Binding — Binding arbitration available if Association not satisfied with Superintendent's decision; arbitrator from American Arbitration Association; costs split equally
If Association is not satisfied with the decision of the Superintendent, the Association may submit the grievance to binding arbitration. An arbitrator shall be requested from the American Arbitration Association. Each party bears their own costs; arbitrator cost divided equally between Association and Board.

The work year for teachers will consist of 187 days, including five (5) emergency days, if needed, in accordance with the school calendar approved by the Board.

The Board of Education shall contribute towards the premium for those individuals electing single coverage dental insurance the following amount per month: $19.50.

Employee Premium Share Pct — Employee pays balance of premium after Board contribution; Board pays 81% in 2022-23 (adjusted to 81.5% for single) and 74% for single+other; Board pays 85% thereafter for same coverage

Grievance Steps — Three-step grievance procedure: informal discussion with supervisor (15 days), formal written grievance to supervisor (10 days for resolution), appeal to Superintendent (10 days for meeting and decision)

Teachers performing internal substitution will be compensated at the rate of $ 40.00 per hour for such duty.

Off Schedule Bonus Yr1 — Newly-hired teachers with Bachelor's degree receive $2000 additional bonus for extra work day(s)
Newly-hired teachers receiving neither credit for prior teaching experience nor recognition for educational achievement beyond a Bachelor's degree will receive an additional $2000.00. This amount will also compensate such teachers for the additional work day(s).

Parent Teacher Conferences Annual — Two parent-teacher conferences scheduled annually
Two (2) parent-teacher conferences will be scheduled annually, one (1) during the Fall semester and one (1) during the Spring semester.

Personal Days Annual — 3 personal leave days at full pay each school year
The Board shall grant all full-time employees a total of three (3) personal leave days at full pay each school year for appropriate causes of an urgent nature that cannot be accomplished outside of school hours.

Annually, there will be two (2) professional development days noted on the District calendar: one (1) day scheduled at the beginning of the year in conjunction with the August Institute Day.

For the term of this Agreement, the Board shall pick up and pay nine percent (9%) of the employee contribution on base salary payable to the Illinois Teachers' Retirement System.

Continuous employment shall not be deemed interrupted by any leave of absence, but any period of unpaid leave (exclusive of FMLA leave) in excess of thirty (30) teacher employment days shall not be included.
