Bargaining Unit Recognition — Laborers' International Union, Local 751
The Board of Education, Central Community Unit School District No.4, Iroquois and Kankakee Counties, hereafter, referred to as the "Board," recognizes the Laborers' International Union, Local 751, hereafter, referred to as the "Union," as the exclusive bargaining agent for all full and part-time regularly employed custodians, and all full and part-time regularly employed Food Service employees.

Base Salary Increase Yr1 — Increases referenced in negotiated contract
WITH prior written approval by the Superintendent, coaches and sponsors may agree to divide a stipend amount between them or combine Head and Assistant Coaching Stipends for division between them.

Each teacher may accumulate up to sixteen (16) hours of Classroom Set-up Time prior to the first Professional Educator attendance day, provided conditions are met including monitoring by building administrator.

The assignment for monitoring and administering credit recovery courses will be offered to employees within the bargaining unit represented by the Union. The District will make this assignment on a voluntary basis. If no volunteers come forward, the District may assign an eligible employee as needed.

Any Professional Educator who retires from the District will have his/her health and vision insurance had been in effect during the contract continue through August of the retirement year. Dental insurance may continue if employee pays premium.

Department Chair Duties — Support District, school, and department goals; examine student data; facilitate curriculum and assessment discussions; plan department meetings; develop curriculum; manage text adoptions; attend meetings; submit budget requests; collaborate on master schedule and course descriptions; assist substitute teachers; support student teachers.

A tenured Professional Educator who receives a rating of unsatisfactory in a formal summative evaluation shall follow the remediation procedure set forth in 105 ILCS 5/24 A-5(2)(i), provided basis for unsatisfactory rating is remediable teaching performance.

Food Service Special Events Overtime — one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular rate of pay
Food Service employees that are scheduled to work special events outside their normal scheduled work hours shall be compensated at one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular rate of pay. Special events shall be scheduled by building seniority on a rotational basis.

The regular work week for food service staff shall be Monday through Friday. Employees who work more than four (4) hours per day shall be allowed two (2) fifteen (15) minute break periods per day and a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch period.

Mentor Stipend — Mentor increment for probationary teacher mentoring

Every full-time Professional Educator who works in the middle school or senior high school shall have a preparation period equal to the length of a normal class period each day except when the Principal requires an employee to teach or supervise during his/her preparation period. The Professional Educator shall be compensated at a rate of $31.70 for 2024-25, $32.97 for 2025-26, and $34.29 for 2026-27 per 60-minute period, in 15-minute increments.
