It is recognized that staff serve as a role model for the students and are expected to dress in a professional manner during the work day. Formal observations of teacher classroom performance shall be conducted with two (2) school day notice provided to the teacher. However, nothing shall preclude a building administrator from conducting informal observation of teacher performance.

STEP ONE: informal resolution through free and informal communications between bargaining unit member and supervisor within seven (7) days. Hospitalization Insurance Contribution — Up to $800 per month toward individual or family hospitalization insurance
The Board agrees to pay up to eight hundred dollars ($800) per month for each year of this agreement for each full-time bargaining unit member toward the cost of individual or family hospitalization insurance.

Instructional Minutes Day — 7 hours and 25 minutes exclusive of lunch and professional duties
The length of the workday for all bargaining unit employees shall not exceed seven (7) hours and twenty-five (25) minutes, exclusive of faculty meetings, parent conferences and such other professional duties as required by the BOARD, but inclusive of a thirty (30) minute duty free lunch period.

Internal Substitution Rate — Bargaining unit member required to teach during planning time receives $25 per period

Full-time classroom teachers will receive a minimum of 210 minutes of planning time per week, exclusive of recess. Teachers so relieved from performing duties for planning purposes shall use 165 minutes of self-directed professional activities which include conferences with parents and other teachers and the preparation of class work. The remaining 45 minutes shall be directed by administration.

While the seniority of a teacher who is laid off shall not be terminated if the teacher is recalled within one (1) calendar year from the beginning of the following school term following the teacher's layoff, seniority credit shall not accrue during the period of the layoff.
