Effective the first day of the school term beginning in 2026, the starting hourly rate for newly hired Paras shall be twenty-two dollars ($22.00).

Effective the first day of the school term beginning in 2026, for all Paras with at least (point-five) .5 years of seniority as of the first day of the school term beginning 2026, the hourly wage rate will receive a 19% increase.

Paras are allowed up to ten (10) unpaid bereavement leave days when there has been a death in the immediate family. A Para may substitute up to three (3) days of paid bereavement leave days for a portion of these ten (10) unpaid bereavement leave days.

Callback Mileage Reimbursement — IRS rate in effect at time, calculated using MapQuest
In addition, employees responding to a call back will be reimbursed for mileage to Lemont High School and returning home according to the IRS rate in effect at the time. Mileage will be calculated using MapQuest.

Employees called back to work for an emergency after completing their regular work shall be guaranteed a minimum of one hour for such call back at their current rate of pay.

The regular work year for Paras will consist of 176 pupil attendance days, one (1) orientation day for freshman and transfer students and three (3) Teacher Institute Days as determined by the Administration.

Cook County Paid Leave Ordinance Waiver — Association waives rights under Cook County Paid Leave Ordinance (Section 42-5, effective December 31, 2024) for duration of Agreement
Pursuant to Section 42-5 of the Cook County Paid Leave Ordinance, enacted by the Cook County Board of Commissioners on December 14, 2023, as compiled into the Cook County Code of Ordinances at Chapter 42, Article I, Division 1, effective December 31, 2024, the Association waives rights under the Ordinance for the duration of this Agreement.

For additional scheduled work hours requested by the Superintendent or designee during the summer, the compensation shall be the hourly rate per Appendix B, Pre-Approved Additional Work.
