A unit member granted child care leave may make arrangements during the leave to continue health and dental insurance coverage as provided in this Agreement, at the COBRA rate.
Evaluation
Evaluation Cycle Years — Tenure teachers evaluated as prescribed in teacher evaluation document, non-tenure teachers evaluated at least twice during probationary year, final summative evaluations submitted by March 1 for non-tenure and May 15 for tenure teachers
The classroom teaching performance of a tenure teacher will be evaluated as prescribed in the teacher evaluation document. The classroom teaching performance of probationary teachers shall be evaluated at least twice during each probationary year.
Grievance
Grievance Steps — Three-step grievance procedure: (1) meeting with assigned administrator/principal within 15 days, (2) written grievance to Superintendent within 10 days, (3) binding arbitration upon mutual agreement or union demand
Within fifteen (15) days of the event which precipitated the issue, the unit member or the Union shall meet with the assigned administrator or principal. If the issue is not resolved, written grievance to the Superintendent within ten (10) days. If the grievance is not resolved, then the Union may submit the grievance to binding arbitration.
Retirement
Retirement System — TRS (Teachers' Retirement System) for licensed unit members; IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) for non-licensed unit members
Unit members should contact TRS/IMRF regarding service credit reported during leaves. Life insurance does not continue during this leave.
Rif
Rif Recall Years — Licensed unit members separated and recalled in accordance with Illinois School Code 105 ILCS 5/24-12; non-licensed unit members have 12-month recall list
Licensed unit members will be separated from and recalled to the District in accordance with the requirements of Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/24-12). The Board will maintain a recall list for twelve (12) months for each affected employee.
