Arbitration Binding — Binding arbitration available under Voluntary Labor Arbitration Rules of AAA
The Association may submit the grievance to final and binding arbitration under the Voluntary Labor Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), which shall act as the administrator.

Bereavement Days — Two bereavement days per death without loss of pay
If an employee is absent from work due to the death of an immediate family member, the employee will be granted two (2) bereavement days per death, without loss of pay, and will be charged sick leave for bereavement purposes each day after the first two days.

Contract Days Teacher — School calendar does not exceed 180 school days
The Board shall establish for the coming year a school calendar which does not exceed 190 school days. The calendar shall contain no more than 180 licensed staff workdays.

Dues Deduction — Board shall deduct Association dues from licensed staff pay with proper authorization
The Board shall deduct from each licensed staff's pay the current dues of the Association, provided that the Board has been notified by the Association of a licensed staff-executed authorization.

Employee Premium Share Pct — Employee pays 10% of health insurance premium for Cornerstone Group Plan B (or comparable); may choose Plan A at additional expense
The Board will pay 90% of the individual health insurance premium for Cornerstone Insurance Group Plan B coverage (or comparable benefits) and 100% of life insurance premiums for each year of the contract. The employee may choose Cornerstone Insurance Group Plan A health insurance coverage (if available) at his or her additional expense.
Evaluation
Evaluation Cycle Years — Tenured staff formally observed at least once every three years beginning 2022-2023; non-tenured at least twice annually
Non-tenured licensed staff shall be formally observed at least twice each year. Tenured licensed staff shall be formally observed at least once every other year through 2021-2022 school year. Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, tenured licensed staff shall be observed at least once every three years.
Grievance
Grievance Steps — Two-step grievance procedure with optional bypass and arbitration
Step 1: Licensed staff present grievance within 15 school working days. Step 2: If unresolved, refer to Superintendent or designee within 10 days. Step 3: Arbitration under AAA rules if unresolved at Step 2.

Health Single Premium — Board pays up to actual cost per month for hospitalization and major medical insurance policy; Cornerstone Insurance Group Plan B coverage at 90% of individual health insurance premium
The Board of Education shall pay up to actual cost per month for the life of the contract for each full-time licensed staff towards a hospitalization and major medical insurance policy and for a term insurance policy of $10,000 for each full-time licensed staff. The Board will pay 90% of the individual health insurance premium for Cornerstone Insurance Group Plan B coverage (or comparable benefits) and 100% of life insurance premiums.

Instructional Minutes Day — Licensed staff workday is consecutive 7 hour and 30 minute workday
The normal licensed staff workday shall be a consecutive seven (7) hour and thirty (30) minute workday, unless otherwise provided in this Agreement.

Off Schedule Bonus Yr1 — National Board Certification bonus: 2% of base salary annually while certificate in effect
After the licensed staff has completed all requirements for National Board Certification and provided the Superintendent with verification, he or she will receive compensation at 2% of the base salary, each year the certificate is in effect.

Personal Days Annual — 3 days per year available as personal days from sick leave allotment
Each year employees shall be granted sick leave days based on their work year number of days, with three (3) days available to be used as personal days.

Personnel File Review — Licensed staff have right to review personnel file at Central Office with advance notice
Any licensed staff shall have the right to review the contents of said licensed staff's personnel file with the exception of pre-employment confidential materials, and to attach written reactions.

Retirement Pickup Pct — Board pays 9.0% TRS contribution (0.098901)
The Board of Education shall pay additional salary designated for the Teachers' Retirement System [9.0% (0.098901)].

Rif
Rif Recall Years — Recall rights for grouping 2 staff continue through February 1 of the school year following reduction, but no later than 6 months from beginning of following school term
For licensed staff in grouping 2 who are eligible for recall, recall rights shall be in effect from the date of termination through February 1 of the school year following the reduction in force, but no later than 6 months from the beginning of the following school term.

Right Of Membership — Licensed staff have right to join or not join Association without discrimination
Licensed staff shall have the right to join, or not to join, the Association and to participate in professional negotiations with the Board or its designee through representatives of their own choosing.

Licensed staff employed shall be placed on the licensed staff's appropriate educational level (horizontal placement). Salary schedules based on bachelor's, master's, and specialist degrees with varying credit hour requirements.

Employees may use accumulated sick or personal leave as additional bereavement leave for immediate family members. Employees may make a request to the Superintendent to use accumulated sick or personal time due to the death of individuals other than immediate family.

Sick Leave Max Days — Post-retirement severance: 225 accumulated sick leave days trigger one-half substitute pay severance; maximum $3,000
Upon retirement from the district, an employee who has accumulated more than two hundred twenty-five (225) sick leave days shall receive a severance payment equal to one-half of the substitute licensed staff pay times the number of sick leave days accumulated over 225, up to a maximum of $3,000.
