Grievance
Arbitration Binding — Arbitration is binding on both parties
The decision and/or award of the arbitrator, if made in accordance with his jurisdiction and authority under this agreement, will be binding upon the parties. Expenses for the arbitrator's services and expenses which are common to both parties to the arbitration shall be borne equally.

Assistant Head Cook Premium — current lowest Head Cook rate when performing Head Cook duties for period exceeding three consecutive days
The Assistant Head Cook shall receive the current lowest Head Cook rate of pay when performing the Head Cook duties for a period of time exceeding three consecutive days contingent upon having the Illinois Food Sanitation Manager Certificate.

Bereavement Days — 3 paid days per occurrence for bereavement before using sick or personal days
The Board shall grant 3 paid days per occurrence for bereavement before using sick or personal days for a death in the teacher's immediate family. Bereavement applies to all terms of 6.3.

Board Leave Discretionary — short-term leaves not to exceed ten (10) days
The Board may, at its discretion, grant short-term leaves to employees not to exceed ten (10) days for reasons of a personal nature not permissible under sick day or emergency policies.

Building Check Premium — one and one-half (1 1/2) times hourly rate
If requested by the Supervisor, building checks, by custodians, performed on unscheduled work days (Saturday, Sunday, or holidays) shall be paid at a rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the employee's regular hourly rate of pay.

Clean Up Beautification Days — Two 'clean up' or 'school beautification' days per academic year
The District intends to hold two 'clean up' or 'school beautification' days per academic year designed to improve the aesthetic appearance of the school buildings and grounds.

Contract Days Teacher — School calendar not to exceed 185 school days including five emergency days; 180 instructional days implied
The Board shall establish a school calendar which does not exceed 185 school days, including five (5) emergency days. Unused emergency days shall not be employee work days.

Contract Effective Date — July 21, 2023 through day prior to start of 2026-2027 school year
This Agreement shall be effective as of July 21, 2023 and shall remain in full force and effect until the day prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year

The Board agrees to provide a group health plan for each year of the contract, which will include major medical insurance, dental insurance, optical insurance and life insurance for each regular full-time teacher.

Disciplinary Causes — 11 causes listed: unauthorized absence, criminal conviction, disorderly/immoral conduct, incompetency, insubordination, alcoholic beverages on duty, illegal drugs on duty, neglect of duty, damage to property, misrepresentation on application, false reason for leave

Employee Representation In Discipline — Classified employees have right to Union representation when charged with misconduct or violation resulting in disciplinary action
A classified employee covered by this Agreement shall have the right to be represented by the Union if he or she requests it when charged with any misconduct or violation which may result in any disciplinary action.
Workday
Employee Transfer Limit — not exceeding 30 student attendance days
Employees may be transferred or reassigned during the school year (any day when students are in attendance) for a duration not exceeding 30 student attendance days to meet the needs of the District.
Evaluation
Evaluation Cycle Years — Annual evaluation cycle
Teachers rated Unsatisfactory on summative evaluation may appeal within 10 teacher-workdays after receipt. Evaluation Committee to assess evaluation tool yearly.
Compensation
Field Trip Expenses — entrance fees, meals, and compensation for time exceeding scheduled work day
If a Paraprofessional is required to attend a class field trip as part of their assigned job duties the District shall pay for the entrance fees to parks, attractions, museums, and meals. If length exceeds scheduled work day, compensated at hourly rate.

Grievance Steps — Four-step grievance procedure: Informal Conference, Principal Level, Superintendent Level, Board Level, with optional arbitration
Procedure for Adjustment of Grievances: A. Informal Conference; B. Formal Procedure with Principal Level, Superintendent Level, Board Level, and Arbitration as fourth and final step of impartial arbitration.

The Board will adopt and establish a plan in compliance with Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code, which plan shall provide for insurance premiums not paid under the District's insurance plan plus unreimbursed medical and dental fees, and approved child care facility fees.
