Each full time employee shall receive up to five (5) days paid bereavement leave for the death of a family member including spouse, child, parent, sibling, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, or step-relation.

An employee shall receive a fifteen (15) minute break in the morning and a fifteen (15) minute break in the afternoon.
Workday
Contract Days Teacher — 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with 30 minutes for lunch; summer hours first full week after last student attendance day through last Friday in July; early dismissal at 3:00 pm when school dismissed early
The workday shall follow the JCCUSD #1 calendar and shall be as follows: Employees of this bargaining unit shall work 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Summer hours will be in effect beginning the first full week following the last day of student attendance.

Dues Checkoff — Union dues, initiation fees and assessments checked off twice monthly from wages, subject to employee authorization
All dues, initiation fees and assessments levied by the Union on the employees covered by this Agreement shall be checked-off from the wages of such employees twice each month, except delinquent dues and initiation fees shall be checked-off bi-monthly.
Evaluation
Evaluation Cycle Years — Quarterly evaluations during nine-month probationary period
New employees will work a one nine (9)-month period with quarterly evaluations. Contract employment beyond the probationary period will be dependent upon satisfactory performance and the passing of the physical exam.

Grievance Steps — Steward-assisted informal resolution; formal grievance procedures follow if informal fails
The parties hereto acknowledge that it is usually most desirable for an employee and her immediately involved supervisor to resolve problems through free and informal communications. At any step in the following procedures, when requested by the employee, a Union representative may accompany the employee.

Health Family Premium — 50% of family health insurance coverage
For employees hired prior to October 1, 2016, the School District will pay one hundred percent (100%) of the single employee's health insurance coverage or fifty percent (50%) of the family health insurance coverage.

Health Single Premium — Board pays health and welfare contribution same as for certified employees
The Board shall pay the health and welfare contribution the same as it pays for certified employees. If the carrier or coverage is to be changed, then one (1) member shall represent this bargaining unit.

Instructional Minutes Day — Forty hours per week
The workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours per week. A workweek shall consist of five (5) consecutive days and such five (5) consecutive days will normally commence on Monday and end on Friday of that week.

Jury Duty — Board pays regular salary for jury duty and legal/administrative review panel appearances
The Board shall pay the regular salary to employees called to jury duty or subpoenaed to appear before legal and administrative review panels as witnesses, provided the per diem received is turned into the Unit Office.

No Strike Clause — Employees agree not to engage in strikes, slowdowns, work stoppages during agreement life and after termination as long as parties continue bargaining in good faith

Off Schedule Bonus Yr1 — Seventy percent of base rate for first year
The rate of pay for new employees shall be as follows: seventy percent (70%) of base rate for the first year; eighty percent (80%) of base rate for the second year; ninety percent (90%) of base rate for the third year; and one hundred percent (100%) of base rate for the fourth year

Overtime Rate — Overtime compensation at 1.5 times regular rate for hours over 8 per day or 40 per week
Employees shall be compensated at a rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular rate of pay for work in excess of eight (8) hours in a workday or forty (40) hours in a workweek.

Parental Leave — Parental leave of absence up to 1 calendar year for pregnancy, childbirth, child-rearing, and adoption
An employee shall be allowed to return to work in the same position she held before taking a parental leave, providing the return to active employment is not more than one (1) calendar year from the beginning of the leave.

Personal Days Annual — 5 personal days per school year
At the beginning of each school year, each employee who works a 12-month schedule, (others will be prorated by work schedule) shall be credited with five (5) days to be used for personal reasons. These five (5) days shall be used in any combination from one-half (1/2) day to the full five (5) days.

Release Time — Two days of release time annually for attending local, state or national conventions and/or conferences (Co-Stewards only)
The Co-Stewards (2) of Laborers' Local 773 shall, at the beginning of each school year, be granted up to two (2) days of release time per year for her use only for the purpose of attending local, state or national conventions and/or conferences.

Retirement Pickup Pct — District pays employee share of 4.5% IMRF contribution
The District shall pay in lieu of the employee the 4.5% employee share of IMRF. Any increase over four and one half percent (4.5%) will be paid by employees.

Upon an honorable dismissal or a bona fide retirement from the District, all accumulated days not used for IMRF retirement credit will be paid to the employee at the same rate as stipulated above.

Rif Recall Years — Recall rights for honorable dismissal due to RIF within two (2) years
If an employee is subject to honorable dismissal due to reduction in force RIF and receives severance and if that employee is reinstated she shall retain seniority and its benefits.

Upon a full time employee's honorable termination of employment the Employee shall receive severance pay of five hundred and fifty ($550.00) dollars for each year of service up to a maximum of eleven ($11,000.00) thousand dollars.

Each full time employee shall receive ten (10) days paid sick leave per year. Sick leave may be taken when an employee is unable to perform their job duties due to illness, injury, or required medical attention.

Sick leave shall accumulate to a maximum of two hundred twenty-five (225) days per employee. Sick leave shall be interpreted to mean personal illness (including pregnancy related disability or illness) or death in the immediate family or household.

Snow Emergency Days — On days when school not in session due to inclement weather or emergencies, employees not required to report work without loss of pay, except days when teachers required to be in attendance
