Grievance
Arbitration Binding — Final and binding arbitration through American Arbitration Association
The Association may submit the grievance to final and binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association, which shall act as the administrator of the proceedings. The decision of the arbitrator shall be binding upon the parties provided that the arbitrator shall not amend, modify, nullify, ignore, or add to the provision of the Agreement.

Each employee shall be entitled to two (2) days per year bereavement leave, non cumulative.

Complaints or written memoranda summarizing complaints shall not be placed in an employee's personnel file unless a copy thereof is given to the employee. An employee may attach a written response to any complaint placed in the employee's personnel file within five (5) school days of the date such material is placed in the file.

The school calendar shall provide no more than one hundred eighty (180) days of employee attendance. Any employee required to perform services in excess of the days set in the adopted school year calendar shall be paid an hourly rate based on 1/180 of the base pay at Step 0, BS.

Evaluation Cycle Years — Annual evaluation cycle with PERA committee review prior to final school day
Prior to the final school day of each year, the PERA committee will review and revise the Performance Evaluation Plan as necessary.

Grievance Steps — Informal step, Step One (Principal), Step Two (Superintendent), Step Three (Arbitration)
If the grievance is not resolved at the informal step, the employee/Association may file the grievance in writing with the Principal. If the grievance is not resolved at step one, then the Association and/or employee may refer the grievance to the Superintendent. If the Association and/or employee is not satisfied with the disposition of the grievance at Step Two, the Association may submit the grievance to final and binding arbitration.

Health Single Premium — $693.99 per month as of January 1, 2024
As of January 1st, 2024 the district is contributing $693.99 per month towards the premium cost for Major Medical Insurance.

Hsa Employer Contribution — District reimburses first $1,000 of individual coverage deductible
For individual employee coverage, the District will reimburse the first $1,000 of the deductible, the employee will be responsible for the next $1,500 of the deductible, and the District will reimburse the final $2,500 of the deductible.

Iep Workdays Per Year — Two school days per year as paid IEP workdays to complete Individual Education Plans
Employees required to write Individual Education Plans (IEP's) will be given two (2) school days per year as paid IEP workdays to complete them. Such designated days will be pre-approved by the Building Principal.

Instructional Minutes Day — Workday consists of normal school day, 15 minutes before attendance bell, 25 minutes after dismissal, totaling 7.5 consecutive hours minimum
The workday for employees shall consist of the normal school day, and fifteen (15) minutes before the attendance bell, and twenty-five (25) minutes after student dismissal which shall consist of no longer than seven and one-half (7.5) consecutive hours, plus any additional time necessary for completing professional duties.

Internal Substitution Pay — Internal substitute pays $32.00 per class period substituted during planning period or duty-free time
Whenever an employee is asked to substitute internally by an administrator during a regularly scheduled planning period or during a regularly scheduled duty-free time, excluding lunch, for a class regularly taught by another employee due to the absence of that employee, the substituting employee shall be paid thirty-two dollars ($32.00) for each class period substituted.

Mentoring Program Stipend Experienced — Annual stipend of $250 for mentors of teachers with 5 or more years of TRS creditable service
An annual stipend of $250 will be extended to employees who serve as a mentor for a teacher with five (5) or more years of TRS creditable service or similar out of state experience.

Off Schedule Bonus Yr1 — One Year Retirement Plan: TRS creditable earnings increased by 6% for final year
If an eligible employee gives irrevocable letter of retirement prior to August 1, the employee will be removed from salary schedule and for final year TRS creditable earnings increased by six percent (6%).

Parent Complaint Union Representation — Employee entitled to Association representative presence and support during parent/student complaint resolution and discipline discussions
An employee may request the presence and/or support of an Administrator at any time during the resolution process with the complainant(s). If an employee is required to appear before the Administration for discussion concerning discipline as a result of a complaint, the employee shall be entitled to have a representative of the Association present.

The Association shall be granted two (2) Association days District wide to attend the national, state, or local Convention or meetings. Written notice of Association leave shall be submitted to the Superintendent not less than five (5) school days prior to said leave. The total number of days annually shall not exceed two (2).

All Grade School employees shall be given preparation time while their classes are being taught by a specialist, during the normal school day, including at least one twenty-five (25) minute consecutive preparation time.

Safe Working Conditions — All District operations shall promote safety and security; employees should report unsafe conditions to supervisor who shall promptly correct
All District operations, including the education program, shall be conducted in a manner that will promote the safety and security of everyone on District property or at a District event. If the employee becomes aware of a potentially unsafe or hazardous condition, the employee should report this situation to his/her immediately involved supervisor.

Seniority Definition — Seniority defined as consecutive years of continuous service to District from date of hire
Seniority shall be defined as the number of consecutive years of continuous service to the District. The teacher shall begin accumulating District seniority from the date of hire.

Seniority List Posting Deadline — Seniority list posted by February 1st; teachers have 15 work days to notify Superintendent of discrepancies
Said list shall be updated and posted in each school office, and given to the Association President by February 1st. Teachers shall have fifteen (15) work days from the date the list is posted to notify the Superintendent of any discrepancies.

Sick Days Annual — Accumulated sick leave available; employees entitled to use accumulated sick leave when unable to work due to incapacity or infectious disease
Any employee who is unable to work due to incapacity shall be entitled to take accumulated sick leave. Any employee who, because of illness with an infectious disease, presents a risk of infection to others, shall be entitled to use accumulated sick leave.

An hourly stipend equal to summer school hourly rate as listed in the current contract shall be received by each employee. A one-hour preparation period shall be allotted to each tutor or homebound instructor for every five (5) hours of tutoring.
