All applicable paid time for which you are eligible (sick, vacation, and personal) may be credited prior to unpaid time. New sick leave days shall not be granted during a period of parental leave, but any unused accumulated sick leave available at the commencement of the leave shall be available to the staff member upon return to employment in the District.

Arbitration Binding — Final and binding arbitration available at Step 4
If either party is not satisfied with the disposition of the grievance at Step 3, or the Step 3 time limits expire without action, then either the Association may submit the grievance to final and binding arbitration.

Assault Battery Reporting — Any assault or battery on staff member while on duty shall be promptly reported; Board advises of rights and provides reasonable assistance with law enforcement
Any case of assault or battery upon a staff member while on duty with the school system shall be promptly reported to the Board or its designee. The Board or its designee shall advise the staff member of his/her rights and obligations and shall render reasonable assistance in connection with the handling of the incident by law enforcement authorities.

The Association shall have the right to conduct its business on school property, provided that the conduct thereof shall not interfere with the instructional program, and provided that the facilities are available. Any staff member who on September 1, 1993 was eligible for, but chose not to elect coverage under the group health insurance plan provided in Section 18.2 above, may receive a cash payment for waiving such insurance coverage. The amount of such cash payment shall be $292.00 per month.

Classroom Observations Colleague — Fellow staff member or professional development provider may observe teacher instruction for learning specific techniques
The Administration may arrange for a fellow staff member, professional development provider, or another individual with a pedagogical interest to observe a specific teacher's instruction for the purpose of learning a particular instructional technique or methodology, or for observing how a teacher is implementing a newly taught instructional technique or methodology.

Such observations may result in a teacher receiving feedback, but unless feedback is from an evaluator, it is not intended to be included in the teacher's evaluation.

Within thirty (30) calendar days of ratification of the Agreement the Association shall have each Association member respond to a survey to request a printed copy of the agreement. If requested the staff member will be provided only one printed copy for the duration of the contract.

the District will pay for up to one (1) hour per week of shared planning outside of the regular workday. Both staff members will be compensated at the rate of $25 per hour.

Covering Class Compensation — Staff member covering additional class compensated at $1 per minute when substitute unavailable
On those occasions when a substitute staff member is either late or not available and a staff member is requested to take another class in addition to his/her own class then the staff member accepting the administrative request to take another class will also be compensated at the rate of $1 per minute.

Damage Personal Property Reimbursement — District reimburses employee for eyeglasses, hearing aids, clothing, or communication devices damaged/destroyed in work-related incident, not due to employee negligence or intentional conduct
The District shall reimburse an employee for the cost of replacing his/her eyeglasses, hearing aids, clothing, or personal communication devices if such items are damaged or destroyed as a result of a work-related incident occurring in the course of the employee's assigned duties but not due to the employee's own negligence or intentional conduct.

Degr Staff Premium — Staff with active Illinois Professional Educator License receive additional $.50 per hour
Those Staff Members holding an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) will be compensated an additional .50 cents per hour in addition to their normal hourly rate for all hours worked.
