Extra Trip Definition — Trips not driven daily including field trips, sporting events, and extracurricular trips
For the purposes of this Article, extra trips shall be defined as trips that are not driven daily. Such trips include, but are not limited to, field trips, sporting events, and extracurricular trips.

Route Drivers requesting extra trips must submit their names to the CSBO on or before September 15 of each year of this agreement. Route drivers not signed up may do so at a later date with permission of the administration. Newly hired drivers must serve a 30 calendar day waiting period before they are eligible for extra trips.

In connection with extra trips that conflict with regular morning and/or afternoon routes, such trip shall first be offered to grandfathered coaches pursuant to Section 10.1e. If the extra trip does not pertain to their coaching or sponsorship activity, then it will be offered to a route driver. If route drivers decline the offer, then the extra trip shall be offered to a substitute driver.
