Academic Freedom — LSMs enjoy academic freedom to present instructional materials pertinent to subject and level taught, within course content outlines and Illinois Learning Standards; entitled to freedom of discussion on subject matter within area of professional competence
Academic freedom shall mean that LSMs are free to present instructional materials which are pertinent to the subject and level taught, within the outlines of appropriate course content and within the planned instructional program, as determined by the Illinois Learning Standards.

Any allegation that there has been a violation of academic freedom shall be processed through the grievance procedure provided by this Agreement up to the level of the Board of Education.
