Sick leave is defined as leave of absence from work due to personal illness of the certified staff, doctor's appointments, mental or behavioral health complications, quarantine at home, or serious illness or death in the immediate family or household, and birth, adoption or placement for adoption.

Certification Requirement — Teacher's employment with the District shall automatically terminate and all benefits shall cease if teacher fails to remain certified under Illinois law

Committee Work First Year Recommendation — Committee work for first and second year teachers shall be limited at the District
Recognizing that classroom instruction and curriculum development are the teachers' primary focus, and that new teachers undergo an acclimation period, it is recommended that committee work for first and second year teachers shall be limited during their first two years at the District.

Should the employee be required to meet with the Superintendent, Principal or the Board regarding a matter which may result in disciplinary action, he/she shall be notified, in writing, of the reasons for the meeting. The employee may request a union representative to be present; however, no such meeting shall be postponed for more than forty-eight (48) hours.

Early Dismissal Monthly — One time per month at 11:45 a.m.
There shall be an early dismissal day at 11:45 a.m. one time per month. This time shall be used for staff professional development to be determined by the Administration.

Extra Curricular Supervisor Hourly Rate — Ten dollars ($10.00) per hour if staff required to perform supervisor positions
If no one volunteers, then any staff member required to perform these positions shall be compensated at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per hour.

Failure To Return Discharge — Failure to return within two (2) working days after expiration date shall be cause for immediate discharge
Failure to return from a leave of absence within two (2) working days after the expiration date thereform shall be cause for immediate discharge with loss of benefits and rights accrued pursuant to the terms of this Agreement.

Grievance Steps — Step 1: Superintendent response; Step 2: Board of Education review
Step 1: All parties are encouraged to discuss disputes prior to formal grievance. Step 2: If unsatisfactory, grievance submitted to Board of Education for review at next regularly scheduled Board meeting.

Health Single Premium — Board shall pay up to $570/month for 2024-2025
2024-2025: $570/month. 2025-2026: $590/month or 93%, whichever is less. 2026-2027: $610/month or 93%, whichever is less.

Hsa Employer Contribution — Board shall contribute the maximum allowed by the IRS for single coverage (not to exceed $4,900) into the Health Savings Account

Lane Advancement Allowed — College credit and advanced degree coursework may result in horizontal advancement on salary schedule with Superintendent approval
College credit obtained by a teacher from an accredited institution shall apply toward horizontal advancement on the salary schedule provided the teacher has received prior approval in writing from the Superintendent that said course/courses are related to the field of education.

Off Schedule Bonus Yr1 — First time Employees to this District, hired on or after January 1, 2002 and with less than five (5) years of public school teaching experience may receive a one-time bonus not to exceed $2,000.00.
